Position Summary
The IT Officer is responsible for maintaining and supporting the hospital's information technology infrastructure, ensuring the reliable operation of networks, systems, hardware, software, and security solutions.
The role provides technical support to clinical and administrative staff while ensuring that all IT services support the efficient delivery of healthcare operations.
Network Administration & Infrastructure
- Manage, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the hospital's network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity.
- Configure and maintain network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Manage firewall policies, switch configurations, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
- Plan, establish, and maintain server rooms and network wiring closets (IDF/MDF setups).
- Ensure network security through the implementation of best practices, monitoring, and regular maintenance.
Systems & Equipment Management
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
- Support and maintain healthcare-related applications, hospital information systems, and other business software.
- Set up and manage audio-visual systems used for telemedicine consultations, meetings, and presentations.
- Install, configure, relocate, and maintain CCTV systems and biometric attendance devices.
- Maintain inventory records of all IT assets and equipment.
Technical Support
- Provide Tier-2 and Tier-3 technical support to hospital staff for hardware, software, network, and printer-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve system outages and technical problems in a timely manner.
- Assist users with software installations, account management, and system access requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and user training when required.
Documentation & Project Management
- Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, system configurations, IT assets, procedures, and project handovers.
- Develop and update IT policies, procedures, and user guides.
- Lead and support IT-related projects, including infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and facility expansions.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers when necessary.
& RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Certifications
- Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is mandatory.
- Additional certifications such as Microsoft, Fortinet, VMware, or CompTIA certifications will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in IT support, network administration, systems administration, or a similar role.
- Experience supporting healthcare environments or hospital information systems is preferred.
- Proven experience managing network infrastructure, servers, CCTV systems, and biometric devices.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall administration.
- Experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues independently.
