Role overview

Network and firewall responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus, UniFi, TP-Link Omada and D-Link switching and wireless systems.
• Maintain VLANs, routing, wireless access, network records, diagrams and configuration backups; coordinate with ISPs and vendors.
• Administer FortiGate firewalls, ISP connections, Multi-WAN, SD-WAN, policies, NAT, high availability and production SSL/IPsec VPNs.
• Review firewall logs, investigate blocked traffic, manage firmware and licenses, back up configurations and maintain security records.

Servers, cloud and Microsoft services

• Maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file services, RDP/RDS, patching and performance.
• Manage VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, virtual machines, physical servers, NAS/SAN storage and RAID.
• Configure and monitor AWS EC2, VPC, EBS, S3 and IAM, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID; troubleshoot email and collaboration services, authentication and email security.

Backup, security and client support

• Manage backup jobs, retention, encryption, storage and recovery testing using Acronis Cyber Protect and supported solutions.
• Manage endpoint security products, investigate threats and perform infrastructure health checks and preventive maintenance.
• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain client and company infrastructure; resolve technical issues within agreed timelines.
• Coordinate with clients, internal teams, vendors and ISPs, follow change and security processes, and maintain documentation.

Required qualifications and experience

• 3–5 years of relevant hands-on IT infrastructure, networking and network security experience.
• UAE work experience in IT infrastructure, networking, firewall administration or technical support is required.
• Practical production configuration and troubleshooting of FortiGate SSL VPN and Site-to-Site IPsec VPN is essential.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field; an IT or Networking diploma may be considered with strong practical experience.
• Must be able to independently troubleshoot complex infrastructure and network security issues.

Technical knowledge

• Required knowledge includes TCP/IP, subnetting, switching, wireless, FortiGate, Windows Server, virtualization, AWS, Microsoft 365, email security, backups and endpoint security.
• Preferred certifications include CCNA or equivalent, Fortinet NSE 4 or equivalent, and Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft 365 or Azure certifications.

Additional requirements

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and customer service skills; able to manage multiple assignments and coordinate with technical teams.
• A UAE driving licence is preferred/required for client site visits; willingness to travel to client sites across the UAE is stated.
• Immediate joiners or candidates able to join within 15 days are preferred.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 3,500–8,000 per month.
