Role overview

Own inventory end to end for the Dubai tunneling project, starting as the function's founding member and building the team and warehouse operation as the project scales.

Inventory scope includes TBM spares and components, precast plant raw materials, construction consumables, and site equipment.

The role includes international logistics and UAE customs coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and run the inventory function, including warehouse layout, storage, slotting, labeling, and operating practices.
  • Oversee receiving, storage, and issuance of equipment and materials across the TBM site, precast plant, and warehouse.
  • Establish and audit critical TBM spare-parts kits to protect tunneling uptime.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and drive corrections and process improvements.
  • Perform cycle counts, variance reconciliation, and correction transactions.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder points, and alert the team to potential shortages.
  • Coordinate inbound international shipments, UAE customs clearance, import documentation, and freight forwarders.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and vendors on delivery schedules, receiving inspections, shortages, and damaged goods.
  • Implement and administer inventory systems and train team members to use them.
  • Hire, train, and lead inventory and warehouse staff as the function grows.
  • Ensure warehouse and material-handling operations comply with UAE regulations and project safety standards.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of inventory control, warehouse, or materials management experience in construction, heavy industry, manufacturing, or oil and gas.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SAP, MOS/MES, or equivalent inventory systems, and proficiency with scanners, data tools, and spreadsheets.
  • Experience with cycle counting, root-cause analysis of discrepancies, and inventory accuracy programs.
  • Comfort working hands-on in a field-adjacent role, not a desk-only position.
  • Currently based in the UAE or GCC region, or eligible to work in the UAE.
  • UAE customs and import/export documentation experience is strongly preferred.
  • Tunneling, mining, or major Gulf infrastructure experience is a plus.
  • Experience building or scaling an inventory or warehouse function is a plus.
  • The position may require extended hours and weekend work.

Workplace

  • The position is on site and in person in Dubai, UAE.
