Inventory Control / Logistics Officer (Dental Industry)

Role and purpose

Required skills and experience

• Experience in inventory control, warehouse, or logistics operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, stock auditing, and reconciliation.
• Experience in logistics, shipping, and import coordination.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel.
• Good organization and record-keeping, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• The posting lists a diploma or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications

• Background in dental, medical-device, or other regulated manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience setting up a warehouse from scratch is highly desirable.
• Experience with imports and local distribution is preferred.
• Hands-on Odoo ERP experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety and compliance standards is preferred.

Inventory and warehouse operations

• Manage daily inventory of raw materials, spare parts, consumables, and finished goods; maintain accurate ERP or manual stock records.
• Monitor stock levels, raise replenishment requests, and track fast-moving, slow-moving, and critical items.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, and organization of materials.
• Carry out cycle counts and physical inventory checks; investigate discrepancies, damages, and losses.
• Maintain warehouse safety and compliance standards.

Logistics, coordination, and reporting

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials; coordinate import shipments and documentation.
• Work with freight forwarders and clearing agents; arrange and oversee local dispatch of finished goods.
• Work with Procurement, Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Finance to keep materials available and operations running.
• Prepare inventory and logistics performance reports; reduce excess stock, shortages, and unnecessary costs.

Warehouse setup

• Design and build the warehouse layout, including racking, bins, and flow paths.
• Set up storage and tracking systems, including location coding and labelling.
• Define receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping processes; create warehouse maps and inventory procedures.
• Support equipment and racking system selection and ensure the setup is safe, efficient, and scalable.
