Internal Audit Director role located in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Audit, Risk and Compliance
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, risk-based multi-year and annual internal audit plan.
- Evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of controls, including COSO, Sarbanes-Oxley, or applicable local requirements.
- Monitor alignment with local regulations, industry standards, and statutory-body guidance, including FSRA or UAE central bank guidance.
- Identify and design anti-fraud criteria, controls, and investigative protocols.
Reporting, Coordination and Leadership
- Present audit findings, risk metrics, and remediation progress to the Board Audit Committee and senior leadership.
- Coordinate with external auditors to optimize assurance coverage.
- Hire, train, mentor, and retain internal audit and specialized IT audit staff.
Requirements
- Experience developing and executing multi-year and annual risk-based internal audit plans.
- Ability to evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls.
- Knowledge of applicable UAE regulations, industry standards, and statutory requirements.
- Experience designing anti-fraud criteria, controls, and investigative protocols.
- Ability to report audit findings, risk metrics, and remediation progress to board committees and senior leadership.
- Experience coordinating audit work with external auditors.
- Ability to lead, hire, train, mentor, and retain internal audit and specialized IT audit staff.
