Mechanical Inspector specializing in rotating equipment for local operations.
The position is based in Dubai and is offered as a permanent contract.
Minimum required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related mechanical discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience inspecting rotating equipment during on-site installation.
- Sound knowledge of API RP 686, rotating-equipment installation practices, and applicable codes and standards.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- API SIRE (Source Inspector Rotating Equipment) or equivalent is preferred.
Primary functions
- Comply with client lifesaving rules and DPE HSE requirements.
- Witness and monitor contractor rotating-equipment activities, inspections and tests in line with approved ITPs, quality procedures and method statements.
- Ensure contractors have current standards, specifications, procedures and drawings, and confirm testing and measuring devices are calibrated.
- Participate in receiving inspections of rotating equipment on site when required and attend site acceptance tests.
- Review contractor quality records, raise punch items and verify completion, and issue and follow up non-conformance reports.
Technical expertise
- Apply knowledge of international standards for rotating-equipment installation and demonstrate sound technical skill and judgment.
- Understand site activities and equipment installation practices, including API RP 686.
