Inspector – Mechanical (Buildings)

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Review contract documents, technical specifications, approved shop drawings, and project HSE requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor mechanical works including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
• Ensure contractor activities comply with project specifications, approved methods, and quality standards through inspections, testing, and measurements.
• Monitor and record contractor manpower, equipment, work progress, and daily site activities.
• Maintain accurate site records related to:
• Workforce and equipment deployment
• Progress of works and work locations
• Construction methods and materials used
• Verify material deliveries and monitor installation progress on site.
• Implement and follow instructions issued by the Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
• Enforce project QA/QC procedures and ensure compliance with approved standards.
• Carry out site measurements, testing, and verification checks as required.
• Monitor compliance with local authority regulations and applicable codes, including Dubai Municipality and Civil Defense requirements.
• Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and report any non-conformance or safety violations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in construction supervision projects.
• At least 5 years of UAE consultancy experience, preferably in Dubai.
• Strong hands-on experience in building projects involving HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
• Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures, local authority regulations, and HSE standards.
• Ability to read, interpret, and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
