Role overview
Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and AIOps for a client of Astek.
Key responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain reliable cloud and edge infrastructure for distributed applications.
- Manage Kubernetes (k3s) with Helm and ArgoCD, supporting automated deployments and GitOps.
- Build infrastructure automation scripts and platform tools using Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Implement observability with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and ELK/OpenSearch.
- Apply AIOps to anomaly detection, alert correlation, predictive incident management, and automated remediation.
- Build and support event-driven systems using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Automate provisioning and configuration with Terraform, Helm, and GitOps.
- Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs; lead incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and postmortems.
- Develop self-healing capabilities to reduce downtime and manual intervention.
Requirements
- 4–8 years in Infrastructure Engineering, SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
- Hands-on Kubernetes (k3s), Helm, and ArgoCD experience.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, or Node.js for infrastructure automation.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and ELK/OpenSearch.
- Knowledge of AIOps, anomaly detection, alert correlation, and predictive incident management.
- Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps.
- Practical experience with SLIs/SLOs, incident response, troubleshooting, and postmortems.
- Familiarity with cloud and edge architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and self-healing infrastructure.
Preferred qualifications
- AI/ML-driven operational automation experience is preferred.
- Exposure to marketplace-style application deployments is preferred.
- Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills are preferred.
