Information Technology Project Manager

Role purpose

Project delivery and coordination

• Manage assigned projects according to the IT project management methodology and agreed goals and customer-satisfaction measures.
• Coordinate across IT departments and maintain relationships with related departments and units to support successful project completion.
• Manage communications and vendor engagements to ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Participate in team and client meetings and maintain team direction and objectivity.

Reporting, risk, and governance

• Communicate project information to superiors and peers, and report progress and problems to management promptly.
• Prepare project initiation, status, closure, and other required reports on time and communicate them appropriately.
• Manage project scope and mitigate risks to minimize exposure.
• Provide timely, accurate information to internal and external auditors and Compliance when required.

People, systems, and information security

• Address difficult project personnel situations with discretion and in liaison with Human Capital.
• Understand system internals, architecture, and limitations when choosing problem-solving methods.
• Protect project information from unauthorized access and maintain confidentiality of commercially sensitive information.
• Identify personal development needs and take action to improve professionally.

Education and experience

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• PMI project management certification is required.
• At least eight years of experience managing IT projects in banking and financial services is required.
• An MBA or master’s degree is a plus.
• Training courses or certifications in systems technology, management, or banking are a plus.
