Information Technology Operations Manager

Overview

IT Operations & Service Delivery

• Oversee daily IT operations including infrastructure, networks, systems, and end-user support.
• Ensure high availability of classroom technologies, learning platforms, and administrative systems.
• Manage and mentor on-site IT support staff.
• Resolve escalated technical issues and ensure timely service delivery.

Education Technology Enablement

• Support digital learning platforms, classroom technologies, and faculty IT requirements.
• Work closely with teachers and administrative staff to ensure effective use of technology.
• Enable smooth operation of systems such as LMS, student information systems, and examination platforms.

IT Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with UAE education authority requirements and internal group policies.
• Maintain IT policies covering data protection, acceptable use, and cybersecurity.
• Support audits and ensure proper documentation of systems and controls.
• Align with standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 where applicable.

Vendor & System Integrator Management

• Manage third-party IT vendors, service providers, and system integrators.
• Oversee maintenance contracts, support agreements, and service delivery performance.
• Coordinate procurement and implementation of IT solutions.

Infrastructure & Security

• Oversee network security, user access controls, backups, and endpoint protection.
• Ensure systems are regularly updated, patched, and secured.
• Monitor risks and implement basic cybersecurity controls appropriate for a school environment.

Coordination with Group IT

• Act as the liaison between the school and central IT/CTO office.
• Ensure alignment with group-wide IT standards, tools, and initiatives.
• Support rollout of group-level systems and upgrades within the school.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of experience in IT operations or IT support management.
• **Prior experience within schools, universities, or education institutions is mandatory.**
• Experience managing small IT teams and working in end-user–intensive environments.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and end-user support.
• Experience supporting education systems (LMS, student systems, classroom tech).
• Vendor management and service coordination capability.
• Working knowledge of IT security and compliance requirements.

Education & Certification

• Bachelor’s degree

• ITIL 4 Foundation

• Networking certification (CCNA or equivalent)
• Microsoft Certifications
