HR Generalist (Dubai) – Talent Acquisition & HR Operations
Role Overview
Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a growing presence in the UAE.
They are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Generalist to be the first dedicated HR professional in their Dubai office.
This is a true hands-on, “build from scratch” role that combines
talent acquisition/recruitment
,
HR operations
,
onboarding
, and process setup.
You will report to the Regional Leadership team in Dubai on a day-to-day basis, with functional support and guidance from the HR Manager based in London.
This position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape the HR function as the business expands across the Middle East.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end
- talent acquisition
- and recruitment for the Dubai, KSA, and Qatar offices — including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing candidates for technical and engineering roles.
- Design and implement HR processes, policies, and procedures from the ground up, tailored to the needs of a growing consultancy in the UAE and GCC region.
- Manage full-cycle
- onboarding
- for new joiners, ensuring a smooth and professional experience that reflects the company values.
- Handle day-to-day
- HR operations
- , including employee records, contracts, visas/work permits (in coordination with PRO services), and general employee queries.
- Support employee relations, engagement initiatives, and basic performance management processes.
- Work closely with Regional Leadership and the London HR Manager to align local HR practices with group standards while adapting to local UAE/GCC labour laws and market practices.
- Prepare for and support the opening of new offices in KSA and Qatar from an HR and people perspective.
- Contribute to building a strong employer brand and candidate experience in a competitive talent market for data centre design and engineering professionals.
Requirements & Experience
- Proven experience working in a
- design or engineering consultancy
- (ideally with exposure to the built environment, MEP, or similar technical sectors).
- Significant hands-on experience in
Dubai/UAE
- (previous work in the Middle East is essential).
- Strong background in
- talent acquisition/recruitment
- combined with
- HR operations
- and onboarding.
- Demonstrated success in
- setting up HR processes and procedures
- in a small or scaling organisation.
- Excellent
- communication skills
- (written and verbal) in English; Arabic would be an advantage.
- Self-starter with high initiative, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment.
- Good understanding of UAE labour law and GCC employment practices (visas, contracts, etc.).
- Experience supporting regional expansion or multi-country HR coordination is highly desirable.
