Oversee health, safety, and environmental performance across assigned projects for a contracting company in Abu Dhabi.
The company's projects include infrastructure, utilities, sewerage networks, and pumping stations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project HSE plans, procedures, KPIs, and safety initiatives.
- Lead the site HSE team and ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee risk assessments, method statements, Permit-to-Work, LOTO, and high-risk construction activities.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety reviews to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Manage subcontractor HSE compliance and coordinate emergency preparedness and response.
- Monitor and report HSE performance and promote a proactive safety culture.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate required; IOSH, OSHA, or ISO 45001 qualifications are advantageous.
- At least 10 years of HSE experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Construction, infrastructure, utilities, or EPC experience; sewerage networks and pumping station experience preferred.
- UAE experience and knowledge of local HSE regulations, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, risk management, and incident investigation are advantageous.
- English is mandatory; Arabic is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
