HSE Engineer (Tunneling Projects)

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Engineer with 6+ years of experience in infrastructure projects, specifically tunneling works. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental practices to ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with regulatory and project requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in HSE within infrastructure/tunneling projects
• Strong knowledge of HSE standards, risk assessment, and incident management
• Familiarity with UAE HSE regulations and international standards
• Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly preferred

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in tunneling operations (TBM/NATM) and underground safety practices
• Strong understanding of confined space safety and emergency response planning
• Excellent communication and training skills
• Ability to work in high-risk, fast-paced environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE plans, policies, and procedures for tunneling projects
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, project standards, and client requirements
• Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control measures
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE training sessions
• Monitor high-risk activities such as confined space entry, lifting operations, and underground works
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders on HSE matters
• Maintain HSE documentation, reports, and compliance records
• Promote a strong safety culture across the project site

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
