Role overview

Responsibilities

• Provide timely ER advice and coach managers on HR policies and procedures.
• Support employees and managers through ER procedures, manage formal cases, and ensure cases are recorded, tracked, and resolved on time.
• Conduct exit interviews and escalate relevant feedback and recommendations.
• Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the People Operations Manager in line with governance.
• Support design and delivery of ER training and ensure guidance complies with employment law and company policy.

Ideal candidate

• CIPD qualified with experience handling complex employee relations cases.
• Able to manage cases independently and work as part of a team; proactive and able to anticipate issues.
• Sound judgement, confidence challenging stakeholders, and ability to offer constructive alternatives.
• Strong employment law and HR policy knowledge; excellent communication and mediation skills.
• Professional handling of sensitive issues; experience as an HR Advisor, ER advisor, or case manager.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Pay and contract

• Permanent role with annual salary up to £35,000 depending on skills and experience, plus potential annual bonus up to 5% subject to business performance.
• Pay range listed as £30,000–£35,000 per year.

Location

• Role based at the York head office, York YO32 9PT.
