Position overview

Requirements and skills

• No education or prior experience is required; one-on-one training is provided.
• Ability to follow instructions and deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally; professional appearance and manners.
• Good communication skills and WHMIS are assets.
• Time management, adaptability, customer relations, and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure are sought.

Duties

• Clean rooms to hotel standards; check under beds, drawers, and closets for items or trash; clean sinks and fixtures and replenish guest amenities.
• Know cleaning products and chemicals and handle them correctly; use equipment correctly and keep it secure.
• Respond courteously to guest and staff requests or complaints; record and submit lost property to a supervisor at shift end.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and suspicious activity; protect guest room security and privacy.
• Clean coffee pots, arrange furniture after guest use, collect and process laundry, and stock clean linen supplies.
• Wash, dry, and fold guest linens, towels, restaurant table linens, and cleaning cloths; perform minor mending and Houseperson duties when needed.
