Lead IT commissioning from design review and installation through testing, operational readiness, hospital opening and handover, ensuring systems are safe, integrated and ready for clinical use.
Essential Qualifications
- Required experience 8+ years in healthcare IT delivery, including leadership of IT commissioning for at least one hospital opening or major expansion.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics or a related discipline.
- Proven hospital commissioning experience from installation through clinical go-live, with strong knowledge of infrastructure and clinical system integration.
- Strong project controls, testing, contractor coordination and stakeholder management; ability to manage site dependencies and escalate opening risks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management or IT service management certification; experience with multiple hospital openings and healthcare interoperability interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the IT commissioning plan, scope, budget, schedule, dependencies, risk register and readiness reporting within the overall hospital opening program.
- Coordinate clinical teams, facilities, construction contractors, Biomedical Engineering, IT specialists and vendors; confirm responsibilities and acceptance criteria.
- Validate readiness of IT rooms, power and cooling dependencies, structured cabling, networks, compute, endpoints, telephony and cybersecurity controls.
- Coordinate deployment and integration of hospital information, laboratory, imaging, pharmacy and business systems, including medical device interfaces.
- Lead installation verification, integration and user acceptance testing; validate end-to-end clinical workflows, capacity, failover and downtime procedures.
- Manage defects, readiness evidence, cutover rehearsals, training and support arrangements; present go-live recommendations for authorized approval.
- Lead opening support and stabilization; complete asset records, as-built drawings, licenses, warranties, operating procedures and formal handover.
