Head of E&I Projects – Execution & Technical Authority (Oil & Gas)
Middle East | EPC Projects | Senior Leadership Role
We are partnering with a leading organisation in the Oil & Gas EPC sector to appoint an experienced Head of E&I Projects (Execution & Technical).
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving technical excellence, construction execution quality, and on-time delivery across complex brownfield and greenfield projects.
The Opportunity
This is a senior executive-level position acting as the final Technical Authority for all Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) activities across the full EPC lifecycle.
You will lead a team of Project Managers and ensure right-first-time delivery, strong governance, and compliance across critical infrastructure—while accelerating project execution and optimising construction performance.
Technical Leadership & Governance
- Act as the ultimate technical authority for all E&I systems and decisions
- Review and approve engineering deliverables with a focus on constructability and commissioning efficiency
- Ensure full compliance with client standards and international E&I codes
- Oversee procurement quality with final sign-off on engineered materials
- Define strategies for critical system cutovers and live replacements
Construction Execution Excellence
- Drive high-performance construction delivery, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence
- Set benchmark standards for installation quality and inspection regimes
- Enable efficient workflows including pre-fabrication and resource optimisation
- Lead robust commissioning strategies to achieve on-time Ready for Start-Up (RFSU) handovers
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Champion lean execution practices and standardised work procedures
- Leverage project metrics to improve productivity, reduce rework, and enhance delivery speed
- Capture and embed lessons learned to improve future project outcomes
What We’re Looking For
- 20-25 years’ experience in Electrical & Instrumentation within the Oil & Gas sector
- Strong track record across EPC project delivery, ideally within the Middle East
- Deep expertise in major electrical and instrumentation/control systems
- Proven ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders
- A hands-on leader with a passion for execution excellence and technical integrity
- Success in This Role Will Be Measured By
- Right-first-time system acceptance and technical compliance
- Delivery against installation productivity and schedule targets
- Successful client handovers and high customer satisfaction
