About the role

The Head of Custody Operations will establish and run Thndr KSA's trading, settlement, custody, and funding operations.

The role works closely with Tadawul, the Securities Depository Center (Edaa), the Securities Clearing Center (Muqassa), and other stakeholders.

The role will be registered with the Capital Market Authority (CMA).

What you'll do

  • Oversee trade settlement and custody operations and manage the full trade lifecycle from execution to final settlement.
  • Safeguard client assets and client money in line with CMA requirements; perform daily reconciliations with Edaa, Muqassa, custodian, and bank records.
  • Build scalable operations, develop and implement operational policies and procedures, and automate processes to reduce manual errors.
  • Monitor market practice and regulation, maintain operational compliance, assess operational risks, and implement protective controls.

Experience and eligibility

  • At least five years of securities operations experience focused on custody and post-trade.
  • Saudi-market experience and hands-on knowledge of Tadawul, Edaa, and Muqassa processes.
  • Experience leading an operations team at a CMA-licensed Capital Market Institution or custodian.
  • Pass the CMA general qualification route, CME-1A and CME-1B, or hold a CMA exemption. Certain holders of previous-series qualifications do not need to retake exams; both exams must be passed before CMA registration where applicable.
  • Eligible for CMA Registered Person registration and able to meet fit-and-proper criteria for skills, experience, competence, and integrity.
  • Resident in Saudi Arabia or willing to relocate, as required for CMA Registered Persons.

Skills and languages

  • The description seeks an analytical approach, complex-issue resolution, exceptional attention to detail, strong communication, and team coordination.
  • Fluent English is required; Arabic is strongly preferred.
  • The description also values follow-through and comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment.
