Overview

  • As the firm's internal authority on institutional-grade custody, you will shape the architecture, set the standards, and leave a lasting mark on the infrastructure that underpins the entire business.
  • You will work at the intersection of security, compliance and commercial delivery - with the mandate, seniority and cross-functional access to make things happen.

  • Own the entire custody function end-to-end - strategy, operations, governance and incident response. No shared mandate, no narrow remit.
  • Be recognised as the firm's internal authority on Fireblocks and digital asset custody. Your expertise shapes policy, not just process.
  • Direct visibility at the most senior level - you will brief the Board and senior management, and act as a key contact during regulatory engagement and due diligence.
  • Work on genuinely complex, high-stakes infrastructure - hot, warm and cold wallet environments, MPC architecture, policy engine configuration, collateral segregation and full asset lifecycle management.
  • Broad cross-functional influence - close collaboration with Compliance, the MLRO, Technology and Product. Your work touches every corner of the business.
  • Long-term strategic scope - as the business scales into new products, jurisdictions and asset types, you build the architecture that makes it possible.
  • A fast-moving, regulated environment that rewards proactive, structured thinkers who can balance rigour with commercial pace.

What You Will Do

  • Design, operate and govern the firm's digital asset custody framework to institutional-grade standards.
  • Own custody strategy across hot, warm and cold wallet environments, with direct responsibility for safeguarding client cryptoassets at all times.
  • Operate and configure Fireblocks in production - MPC wallet architecture, policy engine, transaction approval workflows, vault segregation, API integrations and incident response tooling.
  • Oversee all custody operations: wallet creation and governance, deposit and withdrawal flows, key management, whitelisting and blacklisting, transaction monitoring and reconciliation.
  • Embed custody controls into core systems, enforce non-bypassable approval logic, and ensure all activity is auditable, evidenced and regulator-ready.
  • Ensure full alignment with AML/CTF obligations, Travel Rule requirements, sanctions screening and Consumer Duty principles.
  • Lead third-party risk management for custody-related vendors and maintain operational playbooks for outages, incidents and market stress events.
  • Provide the Board and senior management with clear reporting on custody risk, operational performance and emerging threats.

What You Will Bring

  • Significant hands-on experience in crypto custody, digital asset infrastructure or institutional trading environments.
  • Proven ownership of Fireblocks in production - you know the platform inside out.
  • Deep understanding of AML/CTF, Travel Rule, sanctions screening and applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong governance instincts with the ability to design frameworks that are both robust and operationally practical.
  • The presence and communication skills to engage confidently with regulators, auditors and Board-level stakeholders.
  • The ability to balance security, compliance and commercial execution in a fast-moving environment.
