Summary
The Head of Business Products will be responsible for developing, delivering, and enhancing the full suite of Corporate and SME financial services products and solutions.
This role will lead product innovation, portfolio management, and commercialization across the business products portfolio, ensuring alignment with client needs, market opportunities, and regulatory requirements.
The incumbent will drive product strategy, digital transformation, profitability, and customer experience while ensuring compliance and operational excellence within a CBUAE-regulated financial services environment.
Business Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Develop and execute the business products strategy across SME, Commercial, and Corporate client segments.
- Conceive, develop, and launch innovative financial services products and solutions tailored to the needs of business customers.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, including ideation, market assessment, business case development, implementation, launch, monitoring, and continuous enhancement.
- Develop short- and long-term product roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives, customer needs, and market trends.
- Drive product profitability through pricing strategies, portfolio optimization, revenue generation, and P&L management.
- Identify opportunities for new revenue streams, strategic partnerships, and innovative financial solutions that enhance the organization’s value proposition.
Market & Regulatory Alignment
- Monitor UAE and GCC market trends, customer requirements, and competitor offerings to ensure product competitiveness and relevance.
- Maintain a deep understanding of SME and Corporate customer needs across multiple industries and sectors.
- Ensure all products and services comply with applicable CBUAE regulations and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively assess regulatory developments and implement product enhancements or changes as required.
Digital Transformation & Innovation
- Lead the digitization of business products and services to improve customer experience, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
- Drive innovation across customer onboarding, financing solutions, payments, collections, and digital self-service capabilities.
- Partner with Technology and Operations teams to deliver seamless digital and omni-channel experiences.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, fintech partnerships, and market innovations to strengthen the product portfolio.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Business Development, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Technology, Finance, and Marketing teams.
- Lead governance forums, product committees, and business reviews related to product development and portfolio performance.
- Ensure successful implementation, adoption, and commercialization of new products and services across the organization.
Risk & Control Environment
- Maintain a robust governance framework for business products and services.
- Ensure effective risk identification, assessment, and mitigation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and management reviews.
- Work closely with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to internal policies and CBUAE regulatory expectations.
Customer-Centric Product Development
- Gather customer insights, market intelligence, and client feedback to drive product innovation and enhancements.
- Develop compelling value propositions for SME and Corporate customers.
- Drive initiatives that improve customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
- Ensure products and services evolve in line with changing customer needs and market dynamics.
Leadership & People Development
- Provide strategic leadership to the Business Products function.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing product management team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support talent development, succession planning, and performance management initiatives.
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep expertise in SME and Corporate financial services products and solutions.
- Strong understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and business trends within the UAE and GCC financial services sector.
- Sound knowledge of CBUAE regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management frameworks.
- Strong commercial acumen with expertise in product strategy, pricing, profitability, and portfolio management.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem solving capabilities.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for innovation and digital transformation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline from a reputable university.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
- Professional certifications in Product Management, Financial Services, Risk Management, or related disciplines would be advantageous.
Experience
- 12-15 years of experience in Product Management, Business Development, Corporate Financial Services, SME Financial Services, or related functions within a regulated financial institution.
- Proven track record of developing, launching, and managing financial services products for SME and Corporate customers.
- Demonstrated success in driving product innovation, digital transformation, and portfolio growth.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex product portfolios.
- Strong understanding of the UAE financial services landscape and regulatory environment.
