About This Role
Summary
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the end to end development, delivery, and continuous enhancement of products and services within the Consumer Products division.
The role entails leading organizational research for new product opportunities, driving product improvements, and overseeing product redesigns.
The Senior Product Manager will also assess product viability and market potential, applying extensive experience and sound judgment to support Finance House’s strategic objectives and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Major Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and introduce market leading products and services including loans, credit cards, instalment programs, balance transfer solutions, and card value added services while strategically managing the overall product portfolio.
- Develop short and long term product roadmaps for cards and loans, including feature enhancements, digital acquisition journeys, underwriting models, technology initiatives, and business case analyses.
- Conduct client insights, segmentation, competitive analysis, and regulatory reviews specific to lending and card products to drive continuous product and process improvements.
- Develop and communicate the product strategy, roadmap priorities, P&L approach, pricing strategies for cards and loans, and cost revenue analyses to maximize profitability and portfolio quality.
- Drive operational efficiency by designing end to end solutions across credit decisioning, customer onboarding, card issuance, loan disbursements, servicing, and collections processes.
- Manage full product lifecycles for cards and loans, ensuring differentiated value propositions, continuous innovation, and alignment with strategic and financial objectives.
- Establish and lead governance routines, including product management meetings, monthly portfolio performance reviews (cards and loans), and weekly Operations, Technology, and Sales forums.
- Maintain a strong risk and control environment, ensuring adherence to credit risk frameworks, card scheme mandates, and regulatory guidelines. Lead Business Continuity initiatives and represent the function in all internal and external audit discussions.
- Lead internal partnership discussions on audits, vendor and processor relationships, card scheme engagements, regulatory updates, and risk management matters.
- Collaborate with Operations, Risk, Legal, AML, Technology, QA, Marketing, and external payment networks to drive strategic initiatives and deliver customer centric solutions.
- Hold end to end ownership of assigned loan and card products, including P&L performance, delinquency management, credit policy alignment, and ongoing product profitability.
- Support development and execution of the cards and loans strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and continuous performance improvement.
- Initiate, develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures covering product acquisition, onboarding, servicing, card lifecycle management, and portfolio governance.
- Build and execute product marketing and branding strategies, including campaigns for cards, instalment plans, balance transfers, top ups, and loans.
- Address all product related matters across the organization in line with underwriting standards and regulatory expectations.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- Strong partnership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across formal and informal structures while maintaining alignment with key stakeholders.
- Deep expertise in developing, launching, and managing loan and card products across the full lifecycle, including acquisition, activation, usage, retention, and portfolio risk management.
- Thorough understanding of the regulatory environment, credit frameworks, card scheme rules, and competitive market dynamics within consumer finance.
- Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to plan and manage budgets, build financial models, assess credit risk, and lead product level P&L.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, particularly for digital lending and card transformation initiatives.
- Strong business and technological understanding of card processing, credit underwriting systems, digital onboarding, and customer experience platforms.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and coordination skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related discipline from a reputable university.
- A Product Management certification.
Experience
- 10 -12 years of progressive experience in product management, with a strong focus on loans, credit cards, and other consumer lending products.
- Proven track record in managing end to end card and loan portfolios, including pricing, underwriting models, risk mitigation, and portfolio performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional initiatives, drive product strategy, and successfully deliver digital and operational enhancements for cards and loans.
- Experience working within regulated financial services environments, with exposure to credit risk, regulatory audits, card scheme compliance, and operational risk frameworks.
