Group Financial Manager – Contracting

Position Overview

Key Responsibilitiesfinancial Leadership & Strategy

• Lead the Group Finance function and develop financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term business objectives.
• Act as a strategic business partner to executive leadership, providing financial insights to support decision-making.
• Drive financial governance, operational efficiency, and sustainable business growth across all business units.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and best practices.

Financial Planning & Analysis (Fp&A)

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations.
• Prepare executive management reports, financial dashboards, and KPI analysis.
• Support strategic planning, business expansion, and investment evaluations.

Project & Contract Finance

• Oversee project accounting and financial performance of contracting, façade, aluminum, and fit-out projects.
• Monitor project profitability, cost control, work-in-progress (WIP), and revenue recognition.
• Review project budgets, cash flow forecasts, variation orders, claims, and project financial risks.
• Partner with Project Directors and Commercial Managers to improve project margins and financial outcomes.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

• Manage Group cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital.
• Oversee cash forecasting, liquidity planning, and funding requirements.
• Manage banking facilities, including:
• Letters of Credit (LC)
• Bank Guarantees (Performance, Advance Payment, Bid Bonds)
• Trade Finance
• Project Financing
• Optimize cash utilization and financial resources across the Group.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee consolidation of financial reports across multiple business entities.
• Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Manage external audits, statutory reporting, and regulatory filings.
• Ensure compliance with UAE corporate tax, VAT, and other applicable financial regulations.

Risk Management & Internal Controls

• Develop and strengthen internal financial controls and corporate governance practices.
• Identify financial and operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Lead internal and external audit processes.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop finance, accounting, treasury, payroll, and procurement finance teams.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Develop succession planning and talent development initiatives within the finance function.

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with banks, auditors, investors, government authorities, consultants, and key business partners.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic business initiatives where applicable.
• Present financial performance and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and shareholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• **Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.**
• MBA in Finance or other professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CMA) will be an added advantage.

Experience

• **15–20 years** of progressive finance experience within the **construction, contracting, engineering, or infrastructure industry**.
• Minimum **8–10 years** in a senior finance leadership role managing multi-company or group finance operations.
• Strong UAE/GCC contracting industry experience is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in **project accounting, contract financial management, cost control, budgeting, and cash flow management**.
• Hands-on experience managing **Letters of Credit (LCs), Bank Guarantees, Trade Finance, and Treasury Operations**.
• Strong exposure to **internal and external audits**, statutory audits, financial compliance, and corporate governance.
• Experience working with auditors, financial institutions, government authorities, and senior management.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
