Job Purpose
To manage and coordinate procurement activities for government projects, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services in compliance with project requirements, company policies, and government procurement regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Source qualified suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.
- Prepare and process purchase requests and purchase orders.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Coordinate with project teams, suppliers, contractors, and government entities regarding procurement requirements.
- Ensure that procured materials and services comply with approved specifications and contractual requirements.
- Monitor procurement schedules and maintain accurate records of purchasing activities.
- Track deliveries, resolve supply issues, and manage supplier performance.
- Prepare procurement reports and provide regular updates to management.
- Maintain procurement documentation, contracts, and supplier databases.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government procurement laws, regulations, and company procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, preferably within government or public-sector projects.
- Knowledge of government procurement procedures, contracts, and tendering processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement/ERP systems.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
