The Global Sales Director is responsible for leading UAS's global sales organization and driving the execution of the company's commercial strategy across all regions.
The role serves as the single point of accountability for global sales performance, revenue growth, customer retention, pipeline management, and sales team effectiveness.
Working closely with Regional Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders, the Global Sales Director ensures consistent execution of commercial objectives, strengthens customer relationships, improves sales productivity, and creates a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and results.
The role combines strategic commercial leadership with hands-on sales management, coaching, forecasting, customer engagement, and operational oversight to ensure sustainable growth and long-term profitability.
Commercial Leadership & Revenue Growth
- Lead the execution of UAS's global commercial strategy and annual sales plan.
- Assume overall accountability for achieving global revenue, gross profit, customer retention, and business growth objectives.
- Translate corporate objectives into actionable regional sales plans and measurable performance targets.
- Identify growth opportunities across existing and emerging markets.
- Drive market penetration strategies to increase UAS's global market share and competitive positioning.
- Partner with Executive Management to support long-term business growth initiatives and strategic priorities.
Sales Performance Management & Governance
- Serve as the central point of accountability for global sales performance.
- Establish, monitor, and continuously improve sales KPIs across all regions.
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews, forecast reviews, and performance assessments with regional sales leaders.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of sales forecasting and revenue projections.
- Drive CRM discipline, sales process compliance, and data-driven decision making throughout the sales organization.
- Identify underperformance risks and implement corrective action plans to improve results.
- Develop sales dashboards and reporting mechanisms that provide visibility of performance against targets.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Regional Sales Managers and commercial teams globally.
- Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, ownership, collaboration, and customer focus.
- Support succession planning, talent development, and leadership capability building across the sales function.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions to maximize individual and team effectiveness.
- Promote consistent sales standards, methodologies, and best practices across all regions.
Customer Retention & Strategic Account Leadership
- Oversee the development and execution of customer retention and account growth strategies.
- Maintain executive-level relationships with strategic customers, operators, flight departments, aircraft management companies, charter operators, and key industry stakeholders.
- Personally engage in high-value commercial opportunities, strategic negotiations, and complex customer discussions.
- Ensure effective management of key global accounts to maximize customer lifetime value and long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with Customer Experience and Operations teams to strengthen customer satisfaction and service delivery.
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify new business opportunities, emerging customer segments, and revenue streams across the UAS service portfolio.
- Support the expansion of Trip Support, Fuel Services, Charter Services, Aviation Solutions, and future business initiatives.
- Evaluate market intelligence, customer trends, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Drive strategic initiatives that increase customer acquisition and improve commercial performance.
Commercial Excellence & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing, Finance, and Product teams to support commercial objectives.
- Ensure alignment between sales commitments and operational delivery capabilities.
- Work with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns, customer engagement initiatives, and lead-generation strategies.
- Continuously improving sales effectiveness, conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and revenue productivity.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the commercial function.
Industry Representation & Brand Leadership
- Represent UAS at international aviation conferences, industry forums, customer events, and strategic business meetings.
- Strengthen UAS's market presence and reputation as a trusted global aviation partner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry associations, regulatory stakeholders, and strategic partners.
- Act as a visible ambassador for the UAS brand and commercial vision.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Aviation Management, Marketing, Finance, or related discipline.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of commercial leadership experience, including leadership of regional or international sales teams.
- Experience within Business Aviation, Aviation Services, Travel Services, Aviation Support Services, Logistics, or other international service-based industries.
- Demonstrated success in delivering revenue growth, customer retention, and commercial transformation initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams across multiple regions.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of revenue, profitability, forecasting, and commercial performance metrics.
- Advanced knowledge of CRM systems, sales analytics, forecasting tools, and performance management frameworks.
