Role overview

The Canada General Manager Associate is the Canada GM's right hand and owns strategic initiatives end to end.

The role owns Strategy & Operations, including operating cadence, operational build-out, and regulatory execution for expansion province by province.

Works with Canadian leadership and GM Associate peers across five countries.

Core missions

  • Own Canada's operating cadence, turning input from nine communities into MBRs, QBRs, and weekly leadership decisions.
  • Build products, processes, and reporting from scratch, including virtual care expansion and pipeline or quota dashboards.
  • Own provincial insurance and clinical licensing, regulatory filings, and related execution for new provinces.
  • Create AI agents to automate reporting, hiring-pipeline digests, and regulatory monitoring.
  • Write decision-enabling documents and keep Canadian and European teams aligned.
  • Develop business cases for staffing and expansion; cover leaders and take on adjacent hiring, intern-management, and Toronto-office responsibilities.

Candidate profile

  • 1–4 years of experience in consulting, banking, M&A, a high-growth startup, or as a founder.
  • Combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, including modeling, process improvement, and timely filings.
  • Exceptional written communication; able to turn complex information into concise, decision-ready writing.
  • Strong command of AI tools, used to extend output rather than replace thinking.
  • Organized, autonomous, and able to run projects from start to finish with precision and little oversight.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and ownership beyond formal remit; motivated to transform healthcare in Canada.
  • Must be based in Toronto and work in the office five days per week.
  • French, international team experience, and scale-up, healthcare, or insurance experience are pluses.

Workplace

  • The role is based in Toronto and requires working from the office five days a week.
  • The Toronto office is at King and Yonge in the financial district.

Compensation

  • The posting describes a competitive salary and equity and references a salary and equity grid, without specifying a pay cadence.

Benefits and development

  • Benefits include a monthly TTC pass, employer RRSP matching, health coverage through Alan's app, flexible leave, and coaching.
  • The role has a minimum two-year horizon and may lead to leadership of a community or function.
