General Accountant

About This Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring full compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations , and supporting accounting operations across multiple business units within the Group. This role requires a high level of precision, accountability, and strong collaboration with procurement, operations, and treasury departments to ensure seamless month-end closing and transparent financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record daily financial transactions, including purchases, sales, and journal entries in compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, intercompany balances, and petty cash to ensure accurate financial records.
• Process supplier invoices using a 3-way match (PO–GRN–Invoice) and ensure vendor payments are made within approved timelines.
• Prepare customer invoices, monitor payments, follow up on outstanding dues, and reconcile customer accounts on a monthly basis.
• Coordinate with warehouse and production teams for stock verification, GRN validation, and accurate inventory valuation.
• Support VAT compliance by verifying supplier TRNs, preparing VAT returns, and assisting with Corporate Tax documentation.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, record asset additions/disposals, and compute monthly depreciation as per accounting standards.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities including trial balance review, adjustments, and preparation of management reports.
• Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and liaise with internal and external auditors for timely completion of audits.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, and project teams to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in financial processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, and Corporate Tax regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP( Microsoft Dynamics D365) /accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
