Role overview

Full Stack Architect role requiring 8–12 years of experience.

The architect will focus on Java backend architecture, with working knowledge of Angular for frontend integration.

The role includes architecture decisions, scalable system design, and mentoring engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and oversee secure, scalable, high-performance Java backend systems using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
  • Define and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, and coding best practices across the stack.
  • Design RESTful/GraphQL APIs and integrate them with Angular applications; define API contracts with frontend teams.
  • Lead microservices design, service decomposition, API gateways, and inter-service communication using REST or messaging queues.
  • Own database architecture, schema design, query optimization, and data modeling across RDBMS and NoSQL systems.
  • Drive cloud-native architecture, containers, orchestration, and CI/CD; conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and performance tuning.
  • Embed OAuth2/JWT, encryption, and secure coding practices; mentor teams and serve as a technical escalation point.
  • Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and QA stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Must-have qualifications

  • 8–12 years of experience and proven work as a Solution or Technical Architect on enterprise-scale projects.
  • Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security; microservices, design patterns, REST APIs, and API gateways.
  • Messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ; relational and NoSQL databases; Redis or Hazelcast caching.
  • Hands-on experience with any one of AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
  • Performance tuning, JVM internals, multithreading, and concurrency experience.
  • Angular 10+, TypeScript, RxJS, and understanding of component-based architecture and state management.
  • Domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, and architecture documentation using C4 or UML.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and mentoring ability.

Good to have

  • GraphQL experience; exposure to Kafka Streams, event sourcing, or CQRS.
  • Prior experience leading architecture for large-scale, high-traffic systems.
  • NgRx is a plus.

Architecture technology examples

API gateway options include Kong, Zuul, or Apigee; cloud experience may be with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Database examples include PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or Cassandra; messaging examples include Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.

CI/CD examples include Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
