Full Stack Software Engineer

Blanc Labs’ product team builds an AI agent platform for customer conversations over voice, SMS, and chat.
The platform is live with enterprise clients; the engineer will take features from idea to production.

Blanc Labs’ product team builds an AI agent platform for customer conversations over voice, SMS, and chat.
The platform is live with enterprise clients; the engineer will take features from idea to production.
The role covers backend services, web interfaces, and AI agents.
The role is hybrid in downtown Toronto, with 2–3 office days per week.
What you’ll do
- Build and ship backend services, APIs, and Next.js interfaces used by the team and clients.
- Develop agent capabilities such as prompt assembly, tool and function calling, streaming responses, and conversation state.
- Integrate real-time voice and messaging channels, including telephony, SMS, and web.
- Design data models and migrations for consistency and safe change.
- Build background jobs and outbound processing with retry and failure handling.
- Instrument services with logging, metrics, and tracing; debug issues end-to-end.
- Contribute to the roadmap and prototype agent capabilities.
What you’ll need
- 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with production code shipped and supported.
- Strong Python, including asynchronous programming such as asyncio, FastAPI, or similar.
- Experience with React and TypeScript.
- Comfort with relational databases, PostgreSQL, SQL, and migrations.
- Hands-on LLM development experience, professionally or through side projects.
- Working knowledge of Docker and a major cloud platform; Azure is preferred.
Nice to have
- Next.js experience.
- Real-time media or telephony experience, including WebRTC, SIP, programmable voice, or SMS APIs.
- LLM evaluation or agent framework experience.
- Experience with data-residency or compliance requirements.
