The Business Analyst translates business needs into functional and technical requirements for enterprise data, integration, and application initiatives.
The role works closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to map processes, document requirements, and support technology-program delivery.
Workplace
- Hybrid role in downtown Toronto, with 2–3 days per week in the office.
What you’ll do
- Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Lead requirements workshops, process-mapping sessions, and stakeholder interviews.
- Analyze current processes and system workflows to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Create functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for development teams.
- Support data, integration, and enterprise application projects; clarify requirements and validate solution designs.
- Collaborate with architecture, development, delivery, and QA teams to align solutions with business objectives.
- Maintain requirements documentation, traceability, and change logs throughout project delivery.
- Facilitate stakeholder reviews, solution walkthroughs, and sign-off.
- Support UAT planning, test-case review, and defect triage; liaise between business and technical teams.
What you’ll need
- 5+ years of experience translating business needs into functional and technical requirements.
- Experience with data, integration, and enterprise application projects.
- Strong process-mapping, requirements-documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Workshop facilitation and effective communication across business and technical audiences.
- Experience in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; comfort working with cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to UAT, test-case review, and defect validation is an asset.
