Frontend Software Developer

Position Overview

Work Arrangement

• The role is hybrid, with an assigned Toronto office workspace, company-issued equipment, hands-on training, and a flexible hybrid arrangement.

Role Responsibilities

• Build and maintain React and TypeScript features for payment, foreign exchange, account, and risk workflows.
• Create responsive, accessible interfaces from requirements and designs, and integrate with .NET HTTP APIs and their contracts.
• Handle authentication, permissions, loading, validation, and errors; present financial information and transaction status accurately.
• Develop reusable components, improve shared UI conventions, and modernize the existing codebase incrementally.
• Maintain automated component and workflow tests, investigate defects, support frontend builds, and update dependencies.
• Improve accessibility, localization, cross-browser behavior, and performance.
• Estimate and communicate work, participate in reviews, and document frontend decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Three or more years of professional experience building frontend web applications.
• Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, and React experience, including hooks, components, state management, routing, and forms.
• Strong knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS/SCSS, responsive layouts, browser behavior, and accessible interactions.
• Experience with HTTP APIs, JSON, client-side validation, secure authenticated flows, and error handling.
• Working knowledge of Node.js, npm, Webpack, package management, and frontend build workflows.
• Experience testing React components and user behavior with Jest and React Testing Library or comparable tools.
• Familiarity with Git, pull requests, code review, continuous integration, browser debugging, and performance improvement.

Helpful Experience and Working Approach

• Material UI, Recoil or Redux, and Formik/Yup experience is helpful; expertise in every library is not required.
• The role calls for attention to detail in financial workflows, product-oriented thinking, collaboration, clear communication, and sound judgment about incremental changes.

Pay Transparency

• The expected salary range is CAD $110,000–$130,000 based on the candidate’s work location.
