Front-End Engineer III role on Expedia Group’s InsurTech team, which builds insurance and FinTech solutions integrated with travel experiences.
The role builds scalable user interfaces and systems, owns features through production, collaborates across teams, and supports operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design accessible, performant interfaces and interaction patterns across product surfaces and devices.
- Build scalable client-side architecture for components, state management, routing, and API integration.
- Partner with design, product, and backend teams to refine requirements, assess trade-offs, and deliver testable UX improvements informed by data and experimentation.
- Apply testing, code review, performance, security, and observability practices; contribute to shared UI libraries, design systems, and tooling.
- Safely integrate AI/ML-enabled experiences; own delivery through rollout and post-launch improvements.
- Support production, investigate incidents, improve monitoring and runbooks, mentor engineers, and strengthen team standards.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Production web application experience with React.js, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- End-to-end ownership of user-facing web features, including implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Front-end system design, component-level design, API consumption, and client-side state/data modeling experience.
- Experience with modern engineering tooling such as package managers, build systems, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience evolving complex React architectures, state management, performance, and modularization across products.
- Experience building shared UI libraries or design systems and promoting accessibility, localization, and responsive design.
- Use of A/B tests, analytics, or user behavior insights to improve user experiences.
- AI-augmented workflows and collaboration with AI/ML and backend teams on responsible, performant AI-enabled product experiences.
