Role overview

The Forward Deployment Engineer, HL7 Integration helps customers adopt DeepHealth’s Diagnostic Suite by owning integration with their clinical systems.

The role combines HL7 and DICOM engineering, radiology workflow knowledge, customer communication, and collaboration across delivery, product, and service teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design customer integrations mapping radiology order-to-result workflows across RIS/EHR, worklists, PACS, Viewer, reporting, and results to HL7 and DICOM configurations.
  • Lead technical discovery covering interfaces, message types, code sets, migration data, and cutover requirements.
  • Build, configure, and validate integration-engine interfaces, mappings, transformers, routing, and test messages.
  • Coach implementation teams and customer analysts; publish interface specifications, playbooks, and baselines.
  • Lead customer-facing integration during go-lives, hypercare, and escalations; resolve HL7 and integration issues with engineering.
  • Establish change control for site-specific customizations, including documentation, versioning, and rollback plans.
  • Turn recurring interface needs into standard product capabilities and define AI adoption requirements and success criteria.
  • Configure AI-enabled clinical-data workflows and coordinate rollout, site readiness, and customer adoption.
  • Triage account engineering issues, track defects through resolution, and close the loop with customers.
  • Monitor HL7 service health, participate in incident response, and drive reliability improvements.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 8+ years in healthcare IT integration or clinical systems; 5+ years of hands-on HL7 v2.x interface design and support in customer-facing or implementation work.
  • Expert-level experience with at least one integration engine; Mirth Connect/NextGen Connect is strongly preferred, and Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, or Corepoint are acceptable.
  • Strong radiology order-to-result workflow knowledge and working knowledge of DICOM mapping to HL7 order data and modality worklist.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, SQL, and message/log analysis; ability to work directly with customer IT, interface analysts, and clinical stakeholders.
  • FHIR R4, IHE profiles, CIIP/PARCA credentials, regulated medical device experience, and ITIL practices are preferred.
