The engineer works directly with customers to solve difficult problems and build AI systems on the OI Platform.
The customer-specific layer includes workflows, data integrations, user interfaces, and operational integrations.
The role owns projects from kickoff through production in a small, autonomous team.
Responsibilities
- Translate customer business problems into technical solutions with client stakeholders.
- Build agent workflows, RAG pipelines, custom applications, and data products on the OI Platform.
- Own discovery, architecture, build, deployment, and iteration after launch.
- Transform complex data for effective use by AI systems.
- Collaborate with product engineers, deployment strategists, and customer teams.
- Travel to client sites for workshops, live-system debugging, and delivery activities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Engineering background in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics, data science, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of backend, data, or full-stack engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, vector databases, agent frameworks, evaluations, and prompt orchestration.
- Experience with large-scale data, cloud platforms, and modern data tooling.
- Ability to communicate with CTOs and non-technical executives.
- Strong ownership, independence, and comfort with ambiguity.
Preferred Experience
- Experience deploying AI or machine learning systems in regulated or mission-critical environments.
- Experience working directly with enterprise customers in delivery or consulting.
Client-Site Work
- The role includes travel to client sites when required for workshops, live-system debugging, and customer delivery.
