Contract Fire Protection Engineer role based on-site in Dubai, UAE.
Design, review, and optimize fire protection and life safety systems for HVAC and ventilation projects.
Work with project managers, mechanical engineers, and site teams to ensure compliance with local and international fire safety codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fire protection layouts and calculations, and select and specify fire suppression equipment.
- Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction and support bid and project-execution documentation.
- Perform risk assessments; review shop drawings and method statements.
- Guide fire safety integration into ventilation design and installation, supporting new installations and existing facility upgrades.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in fire protection and safety engineering, including system design, analysis, and code compliance.
- Solid knowledge of fire safety and life safety principles, including risk assessment, emergency egress, and occupant protection.
- Experience with suppression systems such as sprinklers, gas-based systems, and specialized HVAC-integrated solutions.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with NFPA, IFC, and local UAE Civil Defense regulations.
- Experience on large commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects, ideally in HVAC or ventilation.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and coordination skills; ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
- Professional certifications in fire protection or safety.
