Role overview
The Fire Extinguisher Technician carries out inspection, servicing, refilling, maintenance, and testing of fire extinguishers.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and service different types of fire extinguishers; refill and recharge them as required.
- Check cylinders, valves, hoses, gauges, and other components; disassemble, clean, and reassemble extinguishers.
- Replace damaged or expired parts and conduct pressure checks to verify proper working condition.
- Perform hydrostatic testing as required and in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Label and record serviced and refilled extinguishers; maintain service records and inspection reports.
- Collect and deliver extinguishers from and to client sites when required.
- Follow safety procedures and company requirements; maintain housekeeping in the workshop and work area.
Workplace
- Work location is in person; duties include workshop work and, when required, client-site collection and delivery.
