Job summary
The role carries out maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of diesel-driven firefighting pumps.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and repair diesel firefighting pumps and diesel engines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in diesel pump systems.
- Inspect and service diesel engines, fuel systems, batteries, starters, alternators, and cooling systems.
- Check engine oil, coolant, fuel systems, belts, filters, and other components.
- Diagnose and rectify pump and engine faults.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and routine servicing.
- Test diesel fire pumps and ensure proper operation and performance.
- Assist with testing and commissioning diesel fire pump systems.
- Replace faulty or worn-out components when required.
- Maintain service reports and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with engineers and supervisors during maintenance and repair work.
- Follow safety procedures and site requirements.
