Finishing carpenter

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Install doors, frames, skirting, architraves, wall panels, cabinets, wardrobes, and other joinery.
• Install and finish custom furniture and architectural woodwork to drawings and specifications.
• Read shop drawings, cutting lists, and installation details; measure, cut, fit, and adjust components.
• Work with veneer, laminate, MDF, plywood, solid wood, and other joinery materials.
• Align and level installations and ensure moving components operate smoothly.
• Sand, trim, fill, and touch up work; inspect for defects and rectify snags.
• Coordinate with other site trades and protect completed joinery and finished surfaces.
• Maintain tools, follow drawings and quality requirements, use required PPE, and keep the work area organized.
• Report shortages and technical or site problems; complete work to schedule and quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven finishing carpentry experience in interior fit-out or construction.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery installation techniques.
• Ability to understand shop drawings and installation details.
• Good measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing skills.
• Experience with common interior joinery and materials including MDF, plywood, veneer, laminate, and solid wood.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to work on construction and fit-out sites.
• Relevant carpentry training or trade certification is an advantage.

Preferred experience

• Experience in commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, hotel, office, or luxury interior fit-out is preferred.
• UAE/GCC fit-out experience, high-end architectural joinery, bespoke furniture, and coordination with other trades are preferred.

Compensation

• Pay is listed as AED 749.87 to AED 2,500 per month.
