Financial Data Analyst – Onsite

Role overview

What you will do

• Support departmental budgeting and forecasting; manage and validate forecast data for accuracy and completeness.
• Research costs and spend, generate and track purchase orders with internal and external partners, and prepare reports for strategic budget planning.
• Investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, recommend corrective actions, and conduct variance, forecast comparison, and spend optimization analysis.
• Advise stakeholders on spend data and ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal financial policies.
• Report monthly and quarterly spend trends; create, confirm, execute, and monitor purchase orders and Statements of Work.

What you will bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and at least two years of relevant finance or data analysis experience.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and month-end and quarter-end close procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical ability to process and interpret large volumes of unstructured data; attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to independently manage tasks and drive processes through completion; proactive follow-up and problem-solving.
• Effective written and verbal communication, including presenting data-driven insights to stakeholders.

Pay and benefits

• Pay range is $48,000-$54,000 yearly; compensation decisions consider experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors.

Work arrangement

• The position is explicitly on-site in Houston, Texas; candidates must arrange their own commute and transportation.
• No travel is required.
