Financial Controller

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial operations, accounting activities, and internal controls.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Develop annual budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial plans.
• Monitor hotel revenue, expenses, profitability, and operating costs.
• Ensure accurate revenue reporting, income audits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance against budgets.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing and coordinate external audits.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and applicable financial reporting standards.
• Implement cost-control measures and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
• Review payroll, supplier payments, purchasing transactions, and financial commitments.
• Provide financial analysis, variance reports, and recommendations to senior management.
• Lead and develop the finance team and collaborate with hotel leadership and department heads.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience; hotel or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Financial Controller or senior finance leadership experience is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hotel accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis.
• Good understanding of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting systems, hotel management systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills; ability to meet deadlines, manage priorities, and maintain confidentiality.
• ACCA, CPA, or CMA qualifications are preferred; multi-property or cluster hotel finance experience is an advantage.

Compensation

• The posting lists pay of AED 1 to AED 15,000 per month.

• Work location is in person in Dubai, UAE.
