- We’re recruiting for an established Events business in Dubai and we’re hiring a hands-on Finance Manager / Chief Accountant to own the day-to-day finance function and keep the numbers clean, tight, and decision-ready.
- This is a “roll up your sleeves” role — you’ll be close to operations, suppliers, and project teams, not stuck in theory.
- What you’ll be doing
- Own month-end close: journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and reporting
- Lead AP/AR end-to-end (supplier payments, client invoicing, collections, credit control)
- Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital (you’ll be the early-warning system)
- Oversee event/project costing: budgets vs actuals, margin tracking, profitability by event
- Ensure VAT compliance (UAE): filings, documentation, audit trail, and best practice
- Maintain strong internal controls across payments, approvals, and procurement spend
- Prepare management accounts and clear dashboards for leadership (no fluff)
- Coordinate with external auditors / tax advisors when required
- Support commercial decisions: pricing, payment terms, supplier negotiations, and risk
- What we’re looking for
- Proven Finance Manager / Chief Accountant experience (ideally events, hospitality, media, or project-based businesses)
- Strong accounting fundamentals (GL, close, reconciliations, controls)
- Confident with UAE VAT and practical compliance
- Solid Excel skills; comfortable working with accounting/ERP systems
- Commercial mindset: you understand margins, cash, and how events actually run
- Calm under pressure, detail-driven, and able to push back when needed
- Nice to have
- Experience with multi-entity reporting or high-volume supplier/client transactions
- Team leadership experience (even small teams)
- Immediate/short notice availability

Skills
You’ll bring strong, hands-on accounting capability with a track record of running month-end close cleanly and on time, backed by sharp attention to detail across reconciliations, journals, and balance sheet control.
You’re confident managing AP/AR in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment, and you understand how to protect cashflow through disciplined forecasting, collections, and sensible payment planning.
You’re commercially switched on and comfortable working in a project-based business, able to translate event budgets into real-time cost control and margin visibility, spotting overruns early and challenging spend when needed.
You have practical UAE VAT knowledge (not just theory) and you keep documentation, approvals, and audit trails tight.
You’re an Excel-heavy operator who can build simple, reliable reporting that leadership actually uses, and you’re comfortable working with finance systems/ERPs without needing hand-holding.
Most importantly, you communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and can partner with operations and suppliers while still holding firm on controls, timelines, and standards.
