Field Services Engineer

Job Description Summary

Roles and Responsibilities

• Graduate engineers handle on-site life extensions, repairs, and inspection-related service activities for installed fleets and supervise construction and commissioning of new and existing equipment at customer sites.
• Includes on-site machining, non-destructive testing, blades, windings, critical welds, and generator diagnostics; able to make engineering decisions.
• Develops conceptual knowledge of the professional discipline, including support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in a broad area.
• Applies business management knowledge gained through studies or prior experience and understands how the team's work contributes to its area.
• Resolves problems using established procedures and consults the supervisor or more experienced team members for issues outside defined instructions or parameters.
• Collaborates with colleagues to resolve problems; for client-facing roles, develops strong client relationships and serves as interface between client and GE Vernova, exchanging technical information and verifying understanding.

Basic Qualifications

• For roles outside the United States, requires basic experience of the function and digital audio workstation, with knowledge equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited university (or a bachelor's degree with experience in a relevant field).
• For roles in the United States, requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited university (or high school diploma/GED with at least 2 years of experience in the function).
