Fashion Designer – Ladies Arabic Wear

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop seasonal collections of ladies' Arabic wear, including abayas, jalabiyas, kaftans, dresses, and modest fashion.
• Create original design concepts, mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings.
• Research and analyze fashion trends, fabrics, colors, embellishments, and market demands in the UAE and GCC region.
• Select suitable fabrics, trims, embroidery, lace, stones, and accessories for each collection.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications (tech packs) for production.
• Work closely with the pattern-making, sampling, embroidery, and production teams to ensure accurate execution of designs.
• Conduct garment fittings and make necessary design modifications before final production.
• Ensure high standards of quality, fit, and finishing throughout the design and production process.
• Coordinate with suppliers for fabric sourcing and accessory selection.
• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams during new collection launches.
• Maintain design documentation and ensure projects are completed within deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design or a related field.
• Minimum **3–5 years of experience** as a Fashion Designer in the UAE, preferably specializing in ladies' Arabic wear.
• Strong portfolio showcasing abayas, jalabiyas, kaftans, evening wear, and modest fashion designs.
• Excellent knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, embellishment techniques, embroidery, and tailoring.
• Experience in creating technical sketches and production specifications.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or CLO 3D is an advantage.
• Good understanding of garment production and quality control processes.
• Ability to identify market trends and develop commercially successful collections.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in luxury or premium Arabic fashion brands.
• Knowledge of hand embroidery, beadwork, stonework, and traditional Arabic embellishment techniques.
• Understanding of the UAE and GCC fashion retail market and customer preferences.
• Experience working with local garment manufacturers and production units.
• Knowledge of pattern making and garment fitting is an added advantage.
