Facade Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Manage technical coordination for doors and windows, glass curtain walls, aluminium cladding, and other facade works.
• Review construction, shop, and fabrication drawings and detailed sections; resolve on-site technical issues.
• Prepare and follow up on material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and other technical documents.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and installation teams on approvals, procurement, fabrication, and installation.
• Provide site guidance, inspect installation quality, monitor progress, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist with performance testing, inspections and acceptance, variation documentation, as-built and handover documents, and final handover.
• Support material selection, facade detailing optimization, cost control, and design changes.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and relevant UAE regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, Structural, Facade Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of doors, windows, and facade industry experience in the UAE; 5+ years and high-rise facade experience are preferred.
• Knowledge of stick and unitized curtain walls, glass curtain walls, aluminium cladding, aluminium windows and doors, and facade details and connections.
• Independently read and review construction, shop, and fabrication drawings and technical specifications; understand facade construction and installation procedures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Revit, BIM, or facade structural calculation software is advantageous.
• Familiarity with local submittal procedures, inspection and acceptance processes, and facade testing is advantageous.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills; responsibility and effectiveness in a site-based project environment.
