Facade Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Manage facade technical matters and construction coordination for doors, windows, curtain walls, and aluminium cladding.
• Review construction, shop, and fabrication drawings; resolve on-site technical issues.
• Prepare and follow up on material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and related documents.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and installation teams through approvals, procurement, fabrication, and installation.
• Provide site technical support, inspect installation quality, track progress, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist with performance testing, inspections, acceptance, variations, as-built documents, and handover.
• Support material selection, detail optimization, cost control, and design changes.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and UAE regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, Structural, Facade Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of UAE doors, windows, and facade industry experience; 5+ years and high-rise facade experience are preferred.
• Knowledge of curtain wall systems, glass facades, aluminium cladding, aluminium windows and doors, details, and connections.
• Independent drawing and specification review skills and understanding of facade construction and installation methods.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Revit, BIM, or facade structural calculation software familiarity is advantageous.
• Familiarity with local submittal, inspection, acceptance, and facade testing processes is advantageous.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills; responsibility and ability to work in a site-based project environment.
