Facade Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Manage technical aspects and construction coordination for doors, windows, glass curtain walls, aluminium cladding, and other façade works.
• Review construction, façade shop, and fabrication drawings and detailed sections for technical accuracy; resolve site technical issues.
• Prepare and follow up on material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and related technical documents.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and installation teams on approvals, procurement, fabrication, and installation.
• Provide site technical guidance, inspect installation quality, monitor progress, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist with façade testing, inspections and acceptance, variation documentation, as-built and handover documents, and final handover.
• Support material selection, façade detailing optimization, cost control, and design changes.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and applicable UAE regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, Façade Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in the doors, windows, and façade industry in the UAE.
• Five or more years of experience and high-rise façade project experience are preferred.
• Knowledge of stick and unitized curtain walls, glass curtain walls, aluminium cladding, aluminium windows and doors, façade details, and connections.
• Ability to independently read and review construction, shop, and fabrication drawings and technical specifications; understanding of façade construction and installation methods.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with Revit, BIM, or façade structural calculation software is an advantage.
• Familiarity with local material submittal procedures, construction inspection and acceptance, and façade testing is an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, responsibility, and ability to work effectively in a site-based project environment.
