Estimation Engineer - Metal Door

Job Summary

Estimator

Estimation & Tendering

• Review tender documents, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and vendor requirements.
• Analyze project scope and prepare accurate cost estimates for metal doors, fire-rated doors, frames, and related hardware.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed commercial and technical proposals in accordance with project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with consultant specifications, Civil Defense requirements, and applicable industry standards.

Technical Coordination

• Coordinate with the drafting team for the preparation and submission of shop drawings.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal departments regarding technical clarifications.
• Review project specifications and ensure alignment with estimation and design requirements.
• Assist in preparing material submittals, MARs, and prequalification documents.

Supplier & Vendor Management

• Coordinate with approved vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times, and technical information.
• Support negotiations related to cost, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure project objectives are achieved.

Project Support

• Coordinate with production, project, and site teams during various stages of project execution.
• Conduct site visits when required to verify project requirements and site conditions.
• Support project handover documentation and technical records.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all procurement and estimation activities comply with contractual, commercial, and legal requirements.
• Coordinate fire testing, certification renewals, audits, and Civil Defense approvals for fire-rated metal doors.
• Prepare Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for fire-rated doors, metal doors, and architectural hardware systems.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, supplier quotations, approvals, and project documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in estimation for metal doors, fire-rated doors, steel doors, or related construction products.
• Knowledge of fire-rated door systems, architectural hardware, and Civil Defense requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Experience preparing material submittals and technical documentation.

Preferred Knowledge

• Familiarity with UAE authority requirements such as Civil Defense, DEWA, ADDC/ADWEA, TRANSCO, ADNOC, and consultant approval processes.
• Experience with fire-rated steel doors, door hardware schedules, and certification requirements.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and estimation software is an advantage.
