Position: Estimation Engineer – Architectural Opening Solutions

Position Overview

:

As an Estimation Engineer for Architectural Opening solutions at UNICO MEA, you will be responsible for analyzing project requirements and providing cost estimates for joinery works, doors solutions and architectural hardware. This role requires expertise in the joinery and doors industry, including knowledge of materials, labor costs, subcontractor pricing, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

:

·      Develop detailed cost estimates for joinery works, doors solutions and architectural hardware, including labor, materials, equipment, and sub-contractors.

·      Prepare bill of quantities (BOQ) based on project drawings, specifications, and scope.

·      Review tender documents, including architectural and technical drawings, to understand project requirements.

·      Prepare and submit competitive tender bids for projects.

·      Identify materials required for the project, source suppliers, and negotiate pricing.

·      Keep updated with the latest materials in the market to optimize cost-efficiency.

·      Liaise with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure that the estimates align with project goals.

·      Work closely with procurement and operations teams to ensure budgets are maintained.

·      Identify potential project risks (e.g., scope changes, price fluctuations) and include contingencies in estimates.

·      Prepare detailed reports, including cost breakdowns and justifications for each project phase.

·      Maintain accurate records of all estimates, revisions, and supporting documentation.

Required Skills:

·      Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications and accurately estimate project costs.

·      Precision in calculating costs, minimizing errors in pricing.

·      Familiarity with estimation software, AutoCAD, MS Excel…

Qualifications:

·      Typically requires a degree in civil engineering, or a related field.

·      3 to 5 years experience of experience in joinery, doors solutions and architectural hardware projects, particularly in estimation. Relevant certifications (GAI, DHIA, DHT, DHC) are a plus.

·      A team player with the ability to motivate and inspire others.

·      Open to change and capable of adapting to new challenges and requirements.
