Estimation Engineer – Facade & Glazing Projects

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, BOQs, specifications, and client requirements to determine project scope and costing.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, manpower, equipment, subcontractor pricing, overheads, and profit margins.
• Carry out quantity take-offs for interior and exterior glazing works.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate pricing.
• Prepare final project costing and submit reports for management approval.
• Develop BOQs, tender documents, pricing schedules, and covering letters for project submissions.
• Support pre-tender and post-tender quantity surveying activities.
• Coordinate with engineering and design teams to identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor project costs and compare actual expenses against estimated budgets.
• Prepare daily and weekly job status reports for management review.
• Attend client meetings to discuss estimates, technical clarifications, and project requirements.
• Maintain proper records of estimates, quotations, contracts, and project documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in facade, aluminum glazing, or construction estimation.
• Strong knowledge of quantity surveying, tendering, and cost analysis.
• Experience in pre-contract and post-contract commercial activities.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications accurately.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and estimation software is an advantage.
