Role overview

Maintenance and systems

• Repair plumbing, electrical equipment, air conditioners, hardware, and other guest-room and public-area items.
• Maintain tools and equipment; return them to secure storage after use.
• Monitor fire alarms and life safety systems and respond promptly to warnings and emergencies.
• Carry out maintenance requests, scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and overhauls.
• Keep mechanical and electrical plant and equipment in excellent working condition.

Safety and emergency response

• Respond to emergencies to protect guests, associates, the building, and its systems and restore normal operations.
• Identify and correct hazards, follow job safety analyses, and report occupational health and safety concerns.
• Maintain working knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.

Readings and records

• Read, log, track, and interpret meter and gauge readings.
• Record electricity, water, and LPG meters during night shifts and take swimming pool readings three times daily.
• Maintain daily activity, task, and problem logs and hand over relevant information to other shifts.

Energy and coordination

• Monitor hotel and grounds energy and utilities usage and report opportunities to conserve energy.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Security, Health Club, Kitchen, and other departments.
• Keep work areas organized, track assigned work, and communicate needs for materials, tools, and supplies.

Candidate expectations

• Use independent troubleshooting to identify problems and implement quality solutions with available resources.
• Complete work safely and professionally and help maintain a safe environment for guests and associates.
• Support onboarding and cross-training and provide technical advice to other engineers as needed.
• Read and follow the relevant standard operating procedures.
