Role overview

Key accountabilities

• Troubleshoot network issues, manage trouble tickets, escalate to vendors, and follow through to resolution within contracted SLAs.
• Analyze performance, perform health checks and preventive maintenance, and review configurations to identify and prevent issues.
• Provide capacity-planning reports and work with planning teams on upgrades and design issues.
• Support network integrations and acceptance testing, ensuring redundancy and appropriate integration.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, configuration consistency, and knowledge-base updates.
• Implement patches and updates, review vendor and network-development documentation, and coordinate network changes.
• Prepare outage root-cause information and recommendations; support disaster recovery plans and restore services after network disasters.
• Prepare and implement methods of procedure and connectivity change requests for business needs.
• Monitor vendor performance and coordinate vendor relationships with the Vendor Management Organization.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electronic and Electrical, Network Engineering, IT, or a telecom-equivalent field.
• At least 10 years of service delivery network (data-center) experience in telecommunications.
• CCNP or another industry certification in the data-center domain; CCIE is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing and switching and higher-layer OSI and TCP/IP protocols.
• Experience with Cisco ACI, ASR, load balancers (Citrix and F5), Packet Flow Switches, and TAPs.
• Experience with legacy N7K, N5K, 7600, 6500, 3750, and 2960 platforms; knowledge of Juniper, Cisco, Huawei, and Fortinet firewalls.
• Knowledge of security infrastructure, high availability, BSS/OSS solutions, and mobile and fixed services.
• Strong problem solving, decision making, teamwork, communication, initiative, and customer focus; able to handle complex problems under pressure.
